Whitney Hart has been in the pizza business since she was 20-years-old. Graduating from college with a degree in Political Science, she had planned to become a teacher. Instead, her path took a turn to the hospitality industry and then shifted to pizza. She founded Boss Lady Pizza in Boulder 9 years ago.
A long-time resident of Superior, she and her wife moved to Carbondale for two years, but Whitney always kept an eye on her old neighborhood for an opportunity to move back. Boss Lady Pizza Superior was born on February 18, 2020 when the location in the Rock Creek Village became available. She seized the opportunity to open a sister restaurant in her favorite town.
Whitney is proud to have a non-franchise pizzeria that prepares everything fresh. This unique pizza shop offers ownership to eligible employees. “As an employee-owned company, when people ask Whitney, ‘Are you the Boss Lady?’ she can point to her staff and say we all are!”
Boss Lady Pizza loves to focus on local partnerships with other female-owned businesses, and is a sponsor of the Superior Chamber Women in Business Lunch & Speaker series. Boss ladies supporting other boss ladies!
“My favorite pizza is the veggie Hawaiian!”
