One Community Business Spotlight: Vetka Flowers

Svetlana (Lana) Ishanova dreamt of starting a flower shop for years before moving to Superior. She was born in Ukraine, but grew up in Russia before moving the US more than 10 years ago. She worked part-time as a flower designer while her three kids were young, and in 2021, Lana and her husband decided to open their own flower shop in their hometown of Superior.

Lana has a very unique creative design aesthetic. Her artform floral design and her medium is plant materials and flowers, creating pleasing and balanced compositions in her designs. She studied flower design at the California Flower Art Academy and she loves to make one-of-a-kind creations. Lana and her team offer a distinctive feature by skillfully hand-tying bouquets. This reduces waste and gives customers the option to forgo purchasing a vase for the flowers.

Lana appreciates living and running a business in a community that is so caring, in addition to being welcoming and friendly; whenever there is a need someone is there to help.

“I opened a flower shop so I can help the community celebrate the major milestones of their lives.”
– Lana Ishanova, Business Owner
